Any GOOD makeup addict/artist will tell you that good tools are ESSENTIAL for great makeup. Now, don't get me wrong- there are times when nothing will compare to smudging with your fingertip...but for the rest of the time you need good brushes! Soft, non-shedding brushes (there is NOTHING worse than buffing on some powder with a kabuki brush, thinking you're going to look great only to find that your brush has SHED teeny black hairs over your beautiful face-YUCK!) Anyway, in my humble opinion MAC brushes can't be beat... well they couldn't be beat before I dared to compare. I've found some great mark dupes of ESSENTIAL MAC brushes.
Check this out:
MAC #195 Concealer brush ($22)
VS.
mark concealer brush ($6)
WOW, right?!?
and there's lots more too....
MAC213 fluff brush ($22.50) mark eyeshadow brush ($6)*
MAC219 pencil brush ($23) mark eyeliner brush ($6)*
MAC190 foundation brush ($32) mark foundation brush ($7)
MAC129 powder/blush brush ($34) mark powder brush ($8)
MAC187 flat top brush ($42) mark blush + bronzer brush ($7)
MAC316 lip brush ($19.50) mark lip brush ($6)
MAC182 buffer brush ($45) mark kabuki brush ($6)
So let's do some math.... You can spend $240 bucks at MAC and bring home 8 brushes (ouch!) OR you can spend $52 with me at www.mymarkstore.com/rebeccabrown and bring home 8 almost identical brushes and still have some money in the bank! BUT WAIT... being the thrifty Recessionista that I am... I've found an even BETTER DEAL.... The mark brush mini kit for only $15.oo!!!! The "mini" means that the handles are a bit shorter than the regular brushes. In the mini kit you'll get the following brushes: powder, concealer, eyeshadow, lip, and eyeliner, plus a cute carrying case!
Come on RECESSIONISTAS! Dare to Compare... mark
